Walter T “Porky” Coll, Sr. (as he was known to friends and family) died peacefully February 26, 2021 at Manor Care Nursing Home, Monroeville where he has resided since 2020. He was born in Turtle Creek on April 18,1938 to Phillip Edward and Dorothy Golightly Coll. Husband of the late Barbara Aiello Coll who he married June 28, 1957. He is survived by his four children - Ron (Kathy), Tom (Kim), Shari Lasher (Larry) and Sean (Kelli). He was proud to be called PapPap by Veronica & Cassondra Coll, Amanda & Ryan Coll, Jimmy (Rachel) & Maggie Lasher and Brittany Lindbloom and by his great-grandsons Cyrus Vincent and Dustin Lindbloom. He is further survived by his sisters Dorothy Coll Westover, Barbara Coll Gallagher, his brother Robert Coll, many brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife Barb, he was preceded in death by his brothers Phillip and Chuck Coll; sisters Patricia Coll Osbourne and Loretta Coll McMenamy; and grandson Brian Lindbloom Jr. Porky retired from the Printing Division of Westinghouse in Trafford with 25 years of service. He was a former PIAA Basketball Referee and an Umpire for boy’s baseball and girls softball. To know Porky was to love him. He might make you angry, or tease you relentlessly, but he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He could name every car he ever owned (and there were a lot!) and was still asking to drive in his last days. Porky wore many hats - husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, son. He was a coach for his son’s baseball teams for many years. He never shied away from work - sometimes working multiple jobs at a time to provide for his family. Per his request - pour yourself a shot of Jameson Whiskey and toast your memories of Porky. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford, 412-372-3111. A funeral liturgy will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11 AM with Fr. George Saletrik officiating. Interment will follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
