Vincent J. "Vince" Babeo, 75, a lifelong resident of Trafford, passed away Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Vince was born on Jan. 16, 1942, in Trafford, the son of the late Antonio and Elizabeth (Stangelo) Babeo. Vince retired from the McKeesport National Bank as a manager and officer. He also worked at the Iron and Glass Bank and was a security officer for CCAC in Braddock after retirement. Vince was an active member of St. Regis Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Trafford Fire Company No. 1. Vince was an avid Penn-Trafford Warriors fan, attending the football and basketball games, rarely missing one. Vince was a former Trafford Borough Councilman. Vince was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas, Nick, Russ and John Babeo and Anna Marie Hetherington. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary (Wadsworth) Babeo; his cherished children, Lisa Babeo, of Trafford, and Tony Babeo (Natalie), of Mars; the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas and Avery; his sisters-in-law, Marge Babeo and Janet Haski; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and his pets, Molly and Lightning.
Family and friends will be received from noon to 6 p.m. Friday in the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 702 Seventh St. (State Rt. 130), Trafford, 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Regis Church with Father David Nazimek as celebrant.
