Obituary

Patricia Ann Stiegler Bass, 79, of Level Green, passed away on January 3, 2022 at her home surrounded by her husband and children. Patricia was born on November 17, 1942 to Al and Cora Stiegler in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated college after only 3 years of study with a degree in elementary education from Southeastern Missouri State University. After college she met the love of her life Leslie Ray Bass who became her husband of 57 years. Patricia was a fiercely dedicated mom to her 4 children. Family came first and was above all else to her, a value she shared with her husband and passed on to her children and grandchildren. Before becoming a mother, Patricia was a devoted and creative elementary school teacher, and she used these skills in her involvement with her children’s activities and volunteer work. She tirelessly attended her kids’ and grandkids’ athletic events, concerts, plays, and other performances. She was instrumental in the development of the Penn Trafford High School Drama Guild and the Theater Factory in Trafford. After her children were grown, Patricia learned and became an expert in the then new field of desktop publishing, and she started a new career where she excelled in designing publications for Westmoreland Community College and later the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to all of this, Patricia was devoted to her friends, was a second mom to her children’s friends, and was a dedicated member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church. Patricia was predeceased by her parents Al and Cora Stiegler, her sister Barb Janssens, and her granddaughters Leslie and Aubrey Bass. She is survived by her husband Les, her children Tim (Lisa) Bass, Kevin (Sharon) Bass, Mike (Sarah) Bass, and Lori (Bryan) Bass-Riley, her grandchildren Ryan, Cory, Tanner, Dylan, Jeremy, Anna, and Abby, and numerous friends, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricia’s name to either: Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Rd, Monroeville, PA 15146 or Penn Trafford High School Drama Guild, payable to PTSD High School Musical, c/o Katie Gutwald, PO Box 530, Harrison City, PA 15636 A service to celebrate Patricia’s life will be held on April 30, 2022 at 10 am at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church and can be watched via livestream.
