Lynn Heckel, age 78, of Level Green passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2023. She had been scheduled for heart surgery but suffered complications. Lynn was born on August 23, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of Clarence and Gale Hoffmann. Lynn was a Shaler High School alumna, as well as Key Punch graduate. She married her beloved high school sweetheart, Bruce Heckel on April 18, 1964. Her deep faith was evident in her devotion to her family and church with many years of service as financial secretary of Level Green Presbyterian Church. She also wrote book reviews for the church library. Her passions included sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, volleyball, bowling, card club, and camping. Whether is was a wedding dress or custom embroidered t-shirt, she was happy to make it. She loved to have family and friends over for food and games. She took great pride in creating an oasis in her backyard with beautiful flowers, landscaping and feeding the birds. We will all miss her holiday and birthday cards she lovingly customized, printed on the computer and mailed to each of us. She always had a smile on her face and was happy to talk to everyone. She made the best chocolate chip cookies! Faith was how she lived her life. Lynn is survived by her children; Terri (John) Mueller, Dawn (Doug) Lewis, and Robert (Nikki) Heckel; her grandchildren Danielle, Craig, Heather, and Brian Mueller, Josh and Tanner Lewis, Logan and Noah Heckel; her brother Clarence Hoffmann, and sister Marcia (Bob) Chocinsky; and not be forgotten Eric, Allison, and Emily Crookston and her sweet miniature schnauzer, Bentley.
