Louis A. Fanty Sr. age 93 of Trafford passed way Tuesday July 13, 2021 in the home of his daughter Susan. Lou was born on May 1, 1928 in Trafford the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Martino) Fanty. Lou and his late wife Helen (Bostedo) Fanty owned and operated the former Rose Flower Shop in Trafford for many years. He also retired from WABCO in Wilmerding and continued doing many projects up until the end. Lou and his wife traveled to Florida for 26 years for the winter months and enjoyed traveling to Ireland and toured the country for almost 30 years in their motor home prior to her passing. After her passing he continued to travel to Florida each year to visit friends and his son and daughter-in-law. He was a member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford and was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. In addition to his wife of 67 years, Helen, Lou was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Sue Fanty; his sister Josephine Ritchey. Lou is survived by his children Lou Fanty Jr. (Kari), Thomas Fanty and Susan Fanty (Frank Capezio); his grandchildren Lexi, Jill (Chance),Mattie, Jeromy, Justin and Steven Fanty and his sister Antoinette Scurci. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 6-8 PM and Sunday from 1-6 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be on Monday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 11 AM in the St. Regis Church with Fr. George Saltrick as celebrant.
