Louis Francis “Lou” Bowden, age 89, of Trafford took his final step to be with God on Sunday January 22, 2023 in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Lou was born on May 18, 1933 in Braddock the son of the late Lawrence Edward and Frieda M. (Johannes) Bowden. Lou loved his family first and foremost and showed that love in every phase of his warm and gentle life. Lou leaves pleasant relatives, friends and co-workers from the former Bell Telephone and AT & T, where he retired, and who no doubt have a smile thinking of him. In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by his brothers Henry and Lawrence Bowden. Lou is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Caroline E. (Gornick) Bowden; his daughters Cathy Greco (Raymond) and Michelle “Shelly” Bowden; his granddaughter Katrina (Greco) Johnson (Gabriel) and Louis Greco (Sarah); and great-grandchildren Luca and Sal Greco. Lou shared a special love with Michael Thomas Gornick and his children, sharing prayers and candy with them. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-7 PM in the John M. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 PM in the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 4202 Old William Penn Hwy, Murrysville. Everyone, please go directly to the church Thursday morning.
