L. Gayle “Sammy” Samuels, age 78, sadly passed away on Thursday December 26, 2024 after a 2-year battle with cancer.  She fought so hard to beat it until God knew it was time to take her home.  She is now dancing, golfing, playing softball, and eating Lobster Tails with her loved ones in heaven.

Gayle grew up in Trafford, PA and was the daughter of the late Albert W. Samuels and Muriel (Koepka) Samuels. She was also preceded in death, by her daughter, Amy Kotvas. 

She is survived by her daughter Bree (Kotvas) Drenning (Jim), her cherished grandchildren Mateo & Talia, her sweet loving furry grandson “Turner”, her loving sister Joyce (Samuels) Wilson (Bill), as well as her many cousins. She is also survived by her best friends since childhood:  Diane (Schneider) Duch, Theresa (Rizzo) Severino, Carol (Mazzocchetti) Schneider and Diane (Donatelli) Laird who have all been angels and have helped the family during Gayle’s battle. 

She worked for many years at Westinghouse Corp, Papernick & Gefsky and ABB.  Gayle loved tinkering in her garden and planting flowers.  During the warm months in the year, she would sit on her front porch admiring her flowers, taking in all of nature’s beauty, drinking coffee & chatting with her neighbors.  She had an incredible & unique dry sense of humor that only those who knew her well were privy to understand & enjoy!

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-6 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc. 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111.  Funeral services will be held at 6PM the conclusion of visitation in the funeral home with Pastor Justin Judy officiating. Burial will be private.  

A Celebration of Gayle's Life will be held on Monday, December 30 at 12 Noon at Osteria Pasqualino's, 4430 William Penn Highway, Murrysville PA 15668 for those who wish to attend.
