Kenneth C. Simmons

Kenneth C. Simmons of Harrisburg, PA, formerly of Trafford, PA passed away on August 15, 2023. He was born February 3, 1942 in Braddock, PA. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Josephine Zeravica Simmons. He was a 1960 graduate of Trafford HS and following graduation he pursued an education in pharmacy at Ohio Northern University, graduating in 1965, receiving the Johnson & Johnson award as the most outstanding student in the School of Pharmacy. Later on in his career he was asked to return to ONU to deliver their commencement address. After graduation from ONU, he accepted a position with Peoples Drug Co. in Washington D.C. as a pharmacist and rising to the position of COO. His next career move was with Rite Aid in Camp Hill, PA as their V. P. of Operations. Upon his retirement in 2007 he enjoyed playing golf and following Steeler football.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a baby brother and his beloved daughter, Melissa Lese.  Surviving is his son, Mark (Kim) of Charlotte, NC and daughter Sydnie of Harrisburg, PA.; his granddaughters Jordan, Aidan, Morgan, Harper and Natasha and a grandson, Leo.   Other survivors are his loving sister Vicki (Stokes) and brother in-law Jay of Murrysville, PA and his devoted son-in-law Greg Lese of York, PA, and his amazing caregiver Maria Ortiz.  There will be no visitation, internment will be private.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, P.O.
