John J Kapa, age 74, of Level Green passed away on Sunday March 27, 2022. John was born on July 19, 1947 in Braddock the son of the late Stanley and Adella Kapa. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Carol (Morris) Kapa. John was the loving Father of John M Kapa of Level Green, and Collette (Russell) Stockdale of Irwin. He was the proud Dziadzia to his granddaughter Cheyenne and two grandsons Michael, and Johnny. He is also survived by his beloved brothers Milton (Judy) Kapa of Cedartown, G. Stanley “Sonny” (MaryAnn) Kapa of West Mifflin, Joey Kapa of Turtle Creek and his late sister Annette (Fagan). John was a proud US Air Force Veteran during the Vietnam War and a retired welder of US Steel at the Edgar Thompson Works, where he worked for 40 years. John was a proud life member of the Braddock Elks where he served two terms as an Exalted Ruler. After his retirement he spent his days taking day rides with his wife where they may end up in Gettysburg/Erie/West Virginia or simply to get ice cream, decorating his yard for the upcoming holiday/season, growing his garden, planting his flowers, and spending time with his granddaughter who was the apple of his eye. John was well known around the community as being the town Santa, where he would dress up for light up nights or ride the fire truck with his elf Collette. John will be missed dearly by all, especially his buddy Bruiser (dog). Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 6-8PM and Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 10 AM Friday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM with Fr.
