Joanne Zimmerman, 83, of Trafford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. She was born July 3, 1939, in Trafford the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Petrini) Lawrence. Joanne was a lifelong resident of Trafford and was a graduate of Trafford High School in 1957. She was employed by Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh as a secretary for the management department. Joanne was a very warm hearted and forgiving person who was always willing to help others, while always giving anyone the benefit of doubt when needed. She was a lifelong member and a volunteer of St. Regis Catholic Parish, giving her time and talents to numerous activities. She was employed by the former Harlich’s Pharmacy in Trafford for 27 years. During that time, she met and made a great many lifelong friends. Joanne was a wonderful cook and always provided full, sumptuous meals for her family, no matter how busy her day. She loved using her fresh vegetables that she and Tom grew from their garden. She enjoyed all types of experiences with her family while vacationing, especially camping and traveling together. Joanne was at her happiest when with family. With her passing, she will leave a large void in the hearts of those that knew her and loved her. Joanne was preceded in death by her sister Margaret (Lawrence) Bucar. Joanne is survived by her loving husband Stanley (Tom) Zimmerman; her four children and nine grandchildren Christine (Donald) Gergen, Andrew, Katherine, Kevin; Tammy (David) Richards, David, Elizabeth; Stanley (Lisa) Zimmerman, Stanley, Thomas; Anthony (Rachel) Zimmerman, Anthony, Wyatt; and also blessed with her six great-grandchildren and her brother Charles Lawrence. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 1-6 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 12:30 PM on Monday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 1 PM in the St. Regis Church with Fr. George Saletrik as celebrant.
