James Cavitt Earl "Jim", age 90, of Monroeville, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 in UPMC East Hospital, Monroeville.  Jim was born on July 24, 1934 in Cavittsville (North Huntingdon Twp.) the son of the late Paul and Sue (Patterson) Earl.  Jim graduated from Norwin High School where he played football and was on the wrestling team.  Jim retired from US Steel after 40 years as a welder and fabricator.  He then worked for the Dick Corporation along with Lifetime Railing.  He welded everything from smoke stacks, to barges, bridges and bumpers.  He was known for his special welding skills and he claimed he could fix anything except a broken heart.  Jim enjoyed lending a hand to family, neighbors, friends or anyone in need.  Repairing things for them, helping them with home projects and providing vegetables he grew.  He had a kind, caring and compassionate soul.  Jim was a member of the Masonic Hall Shidle Lodge 601 in Irwin.  In addition to gardening, he loved hunting, fishing and boating.  He would spend as much time as possible at his camp. Jim was a dedicated family man who enjoyed time together alongside his wife and high school sweetheart of 70 years Marlene (Cirelli) Earl; his daughters Linda Miller (William) of Florida and Lori Troisi (Robert) of Monroeville; his grandchildren Rhonda Hoyman, Chasy Carbo, Cortney Souki and Janine Wood; his great-grandchildren Marleigh, Kyleigh, Holly, Matthew, Xander, William and Emma; and nieces, nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.  Jim was preceded in death by his siblings Pauline Dragon, Anna Mae Scanlon, Ray, Chuck and Richard “Dick” Earl.  Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of a memorial service at 12 Noon in the John M.
