James A. Diana, of Level Green, passed away at the age of 95, on Thursday, May 27, 2021. He was born on March 22, 1926, in Rose Point, PA to the late Andrew and Mary (Marrone) Diana. Jim was one of 10 children who worked on his family farm, enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served in the South Pacific until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He attended trade school to be a diesel mechanic, and after graduation worked as an engineer on a tugboat on the Mississippi River. Then worked at Cummins Diesel Engine, Inc. for 42 years, starting as a diesel mechanic, transitioned to Service Manager and retired as Vice President of Operations in 1991. For over 50 years was active in the St. Regis Church, and its Knights of Columbus Council, serving as Grand Knight and Treasurer. In addition, was an active member of the Level Green Senior Citizens and Young at Heart organizations. Jim was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed working on his farm and flying his private airplane. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jeane “Shirley” Diana and his siblings Rose Friscina, Kathryn Stotlemyer, Guy Diana, Anthony Diana, Joseph Diana, Mae Stock and son in-law George Medved. He is survived by his children Janice Diana, Kenneth Diana (Dianne) and Lois Diana; grandchildren Christopher Gorman (Katie), Ryan Gorman (Jessie), Timothy Gorman (Jeannina), Kenneth Diana, Jr. (Kelly), Andrew Diana, James Mollise, III, Anthony Mollise (Kathleen), 9 great grandchildren and his siblings Marie Scandinaro (the late Sam), Anna Bertolia (Allyn) and Kenneth Diana (Joanne). Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 10:30AM on Wednesday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 11AM in the St. Regis Church with Fr. Thomas Dansak as celebrant.
