George M. Pricener Obituary

George M. Pricener, age 76, of Murrysville, passed away on Saturday October 14, 2023. He was born on September 18, 1947 in Wilkinsburg, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Olenik) Pricener.  George worked for the Westinghouse Electric Corp. in E. Pittsburgh as an accountant and then retired from KOMAT'SU (Joy Mining) in Homer City.  George had a work ethic that most will never be able to compare to.  He was proud to have passed this valuable trait along to both his daughters. George was very independent thinker, never afraid to be different or make choices that differed from the traditional path.  George enjoyed skiing, running, working on old cars, walking his dog Sophie, & music. Many would say his choice in music was nontraditional but he sure did enjoy it.  He also enjoyed his garden and planting flowers year after year. He could always make things grow.  He was good at listening and giving advice. He always had a long story to share and could literally talk for hours without taking a pause.  George had more health issues than anyone should have ever had to deal with in a lifetime.  In 2008, he was gifted a new heart by an anonymous donor which allowed him to pretty much return to a normal life for the past 15 years.  He loved all animals, particularly dogs.  Molly, Sophie helped him keep active over the years.  His beloved dog Sophie was heartbroken when she sensed his sudden passing.   Devoted father to two daughters he was extremely proud of, mentioning their accomplishments to everyone.  He enjoyed being a softball coach when his daughters were young, and taking them on countless ski trips.  He was very proud of all his grandchildren.  He spoke about going to Luke & Brayden’s sporting events and he was so incredibly proud of both their accomplishments.  He was equally proud of Anthony & Giuliana and enjoyed participating seeing them excel with art & sports and enjoyed trips to see them.  He is survived by his wife of 49 years Patricia (Wagner) Pricener. Together they raised two daughters, Susan Porcaro and Allison DeSantis (Robert).  He is also survived by his grandchildren, twins Brayden and Luke DeSantis and Anthony and Giuliana Porcaro; and his sister Patricia A. Pricener. The John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. Trafford 412-372-3111 is assisting the family with arrangements.
