Friederike "Oma" Schiffner

Friederike “Oma” Schiffner age 95 of Fulda, Germany passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 in UPMC East, Monroeville while visiting with her family from Germany.  Oma was born on March 26, 1923 in Udwitz, Germany the daughter of the late Wenzel and Hedwig (Flamm) Ulrich.  Oma was a world traveler.  She traveled from Germany to the States for over 45 years.  She enjoyed cooking and baking and teaching all of her family how to do both.  She was a very strong woman. She loved chocolate, bowling, dancing and was an avid reader.  She did not speak English but was able to communicate with people in her own way.  Oma was preceded in death by her husband Adolph Schiffner two children Karl-Heinz Schiffner and Ursula Schiffner and her partner of 40 years Gerhard Rautenberg.   She is survived by her daughter Ulrike (Ully) Kelly (Dale) of Trafford; her grandchildren Daniela Rhody (Bob), Dale Kelly Jr., Caroline Lingenfelter, Robert Angert (Victoria), Dean Kelly (Melanie)  Bergetta Hugus (Gene), Nicole Basile (Pete); her great-grandchildren Steve Staymates (Lauren), Michael Basile, Jessica Angert (Mike Romano), Dean Kelly Jr., Jeremy Kelly, Sarah Angert, Robert Rhody Jr., David Kelly, and twins Sarah and Ashley Hugus; her great-great grandchildren Allison Staymates, Ava Basile, Dominic Basile and Layla Staymates; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family in Germany.  Family and friends will be received for a memorial visitation on Saturday August 25 from 5-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130), Trafford 412-372-3111.
