Floyd Camp Obituary

Floyd Everett “Red” Camp, age 86, of Trafford passed away on Thursday November 28, 2024 in his home.   Red was born on January 21, 1938 in Trafford the son of the late William H. Camp and Mable P. (Smith) Camp.  He was preceded in death by his brother William Camp Jr., a sister Sandra J. Visco and his Dobermans Blue and Odessa.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years Denise Jane (Brown) Camp; his daughter Jill Elaine Miller (Hunter).  Floyd was a veteran of the US Army serving as a Green Beret.  He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and was employed as a Research Engineer for Westinghouse Corporation and Crucible Materials Corp.  He authored more than 20 papers that were published in scientific literature and holds 12 US Patents and 1 European Patent.  He was a season ticket holder for several years with the Pittsburgh Penguins (in the blue and white era) and with the Pittsburgh Steelers during their glory years from the Immaculate Reception until the Three Rivers Stadium Implosion.  At the family’s request all services are private.  The family requests memorial donations can be made to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven, 2295 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 or to an animal shelter of one’s choice.  The John M.
