Florence A. Gioia, age 93, of Level Green passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 in her home surrounded by her loving family.  Florence was born on December 12, 1928 in East Pittsburgh the daughter of the late John H. and Mary (Lacy) Hresko.  Florence was a member of the St. Regis Church, Trafford.  Florence loved writing poems, an avid reader, playing bingo and going to the casino.  Florence was also very proud of her Catholic and Slovak Heritages.  In addition to her parents Florence was preceded in death by her husband Peter P. Gioia and her sisters Mary Kernion and Helen Tarby.  Florence is survived by her children Audrey Sokolowski (John), Ronald Hartzog (Diane), John Alverson (Marian), Luanne Goldberg (the late Jerry), Louis Gabelli and Kimberley Good; she is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; her brother John Hresko (Betty); numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cats Smokey and Angel. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 4-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St., (State Route 130) Trafford, 412-372-3111.  Parting prayers will be on Tuesday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM in the St. Regis Church.
