Edward "Eddie" Bartakovich

Edward “Eddie” Bartakovich, age 70, of Trafford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday December 8, 2023.  He was born on September 15, 1953 to the late Frank and Margaret Bartakovich.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife and mother to his children Diana Bartakovich, sister Margaret Costa, brother-in-law Carmen Costa, and brother-in-law Joseph Tomkovicz.

He was a loving father to four daughters, Autumn (Mike) Lenhart of Greensburg, Amber (Jeff) Hessom of Plum, Brittany (Joe) Barnes, & Brooke (Danny) Dietrich both of Irwin.  He was also very proud to have seven grandchildren, Lilliana, Landon, Laurel, Gracin, Calia, Aislin and baby Barnes, who will miss him beyond measure.  Additionally, he is survived by his sister Francis Jean Tomkovicz as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

Eddie graduated from Trafford High School in 1971.  He worked hard for many years, primarily in the car industry to provide for his family.  He was most recently employed as a salesman for Golick Motor Company in Pitcairn.  Ed seemed to know someone no matter where he went and it never ceased to amaze us how well he was known and loved around town and at all his favorite spots.  If you were ever looking to have work done, rest assured, he “had a guy” for the job.  He was always looking to make a deal and was never too shy to ask. 

His children would like to express their deep gratitude to all of his friends and neighbors in the community who looked out for him and helped support him in maintaining his independence through several life changes.  His family would also like to thank the Hospice team at Forbes Hospital for the kindness and compassion they showed him in his final days. 

Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2 PM until 5:45 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111.  A blessing service will begin at 6 PM following visitation in the funeral home.
