Doyle A. Harp, age 92, of Level Green, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020. Doyle was survived by his beloved wife, Betty Harp, and he and Betty celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this past summer. He was also survived by his daughters Sherry (Harp) Mains, Sandy (Harp) Wilson and Dee (Harp) Rellick and was preceded in death by his son Robert Harp and his daughter Betsy Anne Harp. Doyle and Betty had seven grandchildren, Rachel DuRay, Kayla Manduke, Zach Mains, Jamie Hood, Matt Wilson, Kate Rellick and Grace Rellick, and five great-grandchildren, Ruby, Caroline, Jordyn, Jeremy and Nolan. He was born in Brookville on May 26, 1928 the son of the late Oscar and Edna (Lyle) Harp. Doyle grew up in a large family with three brothers Milton, Cecil and Wayne and three sisters, Lois, Nola and Mary, his only surviving sibling. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1948 and served in Japan following the dropping of the Atomic Bomb. He graduated from Penn State and was a retired chemical engineer, working for Bettis Atomic Research. He moved to Level Green in 1964 to raise his family. He loved Christ and was a member of the Pitcairn Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sportsman and loved to golf, fish and hunt. He also loved watching football and cheered on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Nittany Lions. He was most recently known for loving his great-grandchildren and would often “call dibs” on holding the youngest. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead send money to Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior’s Foundation. In light of the pandemic all services are private. The John M.
