Donna L. (Skender) Zimmerman

Donna L. (Skender) Zimmerman, age 90, of Level Green passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  Donna was born on October 18, 1932 in McKeesport the daughter of the late Nicholas and Catherine (Gellen) Skender.  Donna was an executive secretary for the President of the former WABCO in Wilmerding and then was the medical receptionist for her son-in-law Gary’s doctor’s office in Trafford and she worked in the cafeteria in the Level Green Elementary School.  Donna was a member of the former St. Michael Church in Pitcairn which is now St. Bernadette Church- Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish in Monroeville, a former member of the Level Green Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and she was an avid reader.  In addition to her parents Donna was preceded in death by her husband Robert Zimmerman Sr. and her son Robert Zimmerman Jr.  Donna loved spending time with her family including Cheryl Johnson (Gary), Stephanie Blinkhorn (Bradley); grandchildren Kurt Johnson (Brooke), Tiffani Parks (Luke), Heidi Kacinko (Jason) Kaytlynn Blinkhorn, and Jacob Erlwein; great-grandchildren Raya, Tyler and Austin Johnson and Kellan and Koraleigh Parks.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 3-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street, (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in the St. Bernadette Church- Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville, PA 15146 with Fr. Al Zapf as celebrant.  Family and friends can meet directly at the church on Friday morning for the 11 AM Mass if attending the funeral.  Interment will follow in the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Monroeville.
