Dominic F. "Meko" Mediate

Dominic F. “Meko” Mediate, age 90, of Level Green passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in the Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.  Meko was born on February 7, 1933 in Slickville the son of the late Frank and Carmella (Macri) Mediate.  Meko graduated from Penn Twp High School, he was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army, and retired from Westinghouse Air Brake as a machinist.  He was a member of the St. Barbara Church in Harrison City, he loved spending time with his family, he loved to garden, hunt, fish and watching all the Pittsburgh Sports teams.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony and Joseph Mediate; and sister Mary Chopp.  Meko is survived by his wife of 59 years Mary J. (Karelis) Mediate; his son Frank Mediate; his brothers Bruno and Paul Mediate and his sister Katherine Zemleduck; his sisters-in-law Lucinda “Cindy” Mediate, Betty Pacienza and Nancy Kemerer (Charles) and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation.  Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral Mass on Wednesday June 7, 2023 at 11 AM in the St. Barbara Church, 111 Raymaley Road, Harrison City PA 15636 with Fr. Michael Sikon as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park with military honors.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations can be made to a charity or church of one’s choice in Dominic’s memory.  The John M.
