Dennis G. Surmacz, age 79, of Harrison City passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Dennis was born on August 13, 1943 in Braddock, the son of the late Leo and Carille Elaine (Brodbeck) Surmacz. He was a proud Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam War and retired as a plant manager from Westinghouse. Dennis was an active member at St. Barbara Parrish, and volunteered as a Eucharistic minister. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was a devoted husband, father and pap pap. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Terrence L. Surmacz. Dennis is survived by his high school sweetheart turned wife of 60 years Valaria (Yagiella) Surmacz; sons; Brian (Celly) and Sean (Kellie) Surmacz; grandchildren Deacon, Donovan, and Dorian Surmacz; as well as sisters Mary, Kimberly and Michelle. Parting prayers will be at 9:15 Saturday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM in the St. Barbara Parrish with Fr. George Saletrik as celebrant.
