Christopher L. Dixon Obituary

Christopher L. Dixon, age 80, of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Born on January 9, 1944, in Fresno, CA, he was the son of the late Clark Leroy and Louise (Petrella) Dixon. Chris's formative years were shaped in Monaca, PA, where he grew into a family man with a strong work ethic.  Chris dedicated himself to his work as a code welder for Westinghouse before finding his true calling as the owner and operator of Evening Star Personal Care Home in Wilmerding, where for 28 years he and Theresa cared for the lives of others. His commitment extended beyond his profession. In their early years of marriage Chris and Thersea founded a multi county chapter of the People Concerned for the Unborn Child. Chris also was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, board member of Our Lady of Constellation, and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He was an active supporter of The Tamburitzans and a community advocate for Wilmerding.  He leaves behind his wife of 52 ½ years, Theresa (Wisniewski) Dixon, who stood by his side through life's joys and challenges and was his constant companion and source of unwavering support.  He was a loving father to Heather L. Dixon, Thomas C. Dixon (Cassandra J.), and David C. Dixon (Julianne), and a proud grandfather to Maria, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Evelyn, Jameson, and Timothy Dixon. Chris was also a caring brother to Patty Dixon and Mary Goehring (Tim) and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert “Bobby” and Dennis Dixon, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130), Trafford (412-372-3111). Parting prayers will be offered at 9:15 AM Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon. Chris will be laid to rest at New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either the People Concerned for the Unborn Child (PCUC), 3050 Pioneer Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15226, or Clelian Heights School, 135 Clelian Heights Lane, Greensburg, PA 15601, honoring Chris's compassion and commitment to the underrepresented. Chris's memory will forever be cherished, his kindness and generosity continuing to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.   www.dobrinickfh.com
