Catherine Capan, 93, of Trafford, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021, peacefully in her home. She was born on August 4, 1927 in Trafford to the late Joseph and Katherine (Vidmar) Capan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Ann Adamik, Helen Pohl, Mary Ondulich, Joseph Capan, Frances Padilla and John Capan. Catherine was a member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford. She worked behind the counter at Islay's in Turtle Creek for many years. She remained in her childhood home to care for her brother John with special needs. "Aunt Kay", as she was affectionately known, is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to a special friend Danuta Maciazek, her great-nephew David Ondulich Jr. and all her caregivers for the compassionate care and support of Catherine over the past couple years. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4-6 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street. (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 9:30AM on Monday in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10AM in the St. Regis Church with Fr. George Saletrik as celebrant.
