Betty (Radosh) Buchin, 93, of Trafford, passed away Jan. 5, 2024 at Redstone Highlands in Greensburg surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born May 3,1930 in the Blackburn area of Trafford, the daughter of the late Anthony and Anne (Vukson) Radosh. She was a lifelong member of St. Regis Parish in Trafford. She graduated from Trafford High School class of 1948 and Robert Morris Business School in 1949. She began working for the Trafford School District and later for Westinghouse Corp.-Nuclear Division in Monroeville for 20 years in the accounting department. After retirement, Betty was a devoted volunteer at Forbes Regional Hospital for 31 years, logging in over 15,000 hours. In 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, Melvin. They enjoyed traveling the world. During this time, they visited many countries and took 28 cruises. They also loved to get dressed up and go dancing with their friends at different country club events. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage until Mel’s death in 2017. Family was paramount to Betty! She loved spending time with them any way she could, whether it be vacations or holidays. She was the Queen Matriarch of our little close-knit family, and will be missed terribly. But we are comforted knowing that she is finally reunited with our dad, which is all she ever wanted. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Melvin. She is survived by her son James (Cheryl) Buchin, of Murrysville and Jill (Harry) Koutsky, of Alachua FL. She is also survived by her 4 wonderful grandchildren, Annie (Brandon) Courson, of Tampa FL, Leandra Buchin (Alex Ruthrauff) of Cleveland OH, Anthony (AJ) Buchin of Trafford and Nicholas Koutsky of Alachua FL. Betty is also survived by her sister Eleanor DiCesare of Trafford and niece Holly DiCesare of Pittsburgh and nephew Michael (Renee) DiCesare of N. Versailles. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Redstone Highlands in Murrysville and Greensburg who took such excellent care of Betty. A special thank you to Redstone at Home hospice nurse Jill whose kindness and compassion shined through as she helped to make our mom comfortable in her final days. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home, Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be on Friday in the funeral home at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral Mass at 11 AM in the St. Regis Church. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
