Barbara “Barb” (Birchall) Podowski, age 69, of Penn Township, died on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 after a lengthy battle with both cancer and Parkinson’s Disease. The daughter of William and Catherine Birchall of Turtle Creek, Barb graduated from TCAHS in 1973. She earned her Associate Degree from CCAC and her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Barb’s career included positions as a tour operator for A&P Tours, and as an administrative assistant at both Baker Communications and the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF). Barb was a parishioner at the St. Barbara Catholic Church and a member of the Norwin Elks. She did considerable volunteer work at both places. Barb is survived by her husband Jack, her brother Joe Sestak (Kassy) of Erie, plus nieces and great-nieces. There will be no viewing.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Barbara Catholic Church, 111 Raymaley Road, Harrison City at 11:00 AM on Monday October 7, 2024 with Fr. Michael Sikon as celebrant. A short greeting session will begin at 10:30 in the church narthex prior to the Mass. A luncheon in the church social hall will immediately follow the Mass. In lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, friends may consider making a contribution in Barb’s memory to the St. Barbara Church—Music Ministry.  The John M.
