Salvatore "Sam" Vecchio

Salvatore “Sam” Vecchio age 87 of New Alexandria, formerly of Trafford passed away on Wednesday November 14, 2018 in his home.  Sam was born on January 19, 1931 in Trafford the son of the late Pasquale and Carmella (Vaccaro) Vecchio.  Sam was a veteran of the US Army and he retired from Westinghouse Electric as an Engineering Sales Manager.  He was a former member of the St. Regis Church in Trafford and a current member of the St. James Church in New Alexandria.  In addition to his parents Sam was preceded in death by his siblings James and Gerald Vecchio and Margarette Kennedy.  Sam is survived by his wife of 64 years Violet (Olinzock) Vecchio; his children Anthony (Deborah) Vecchio of Aiken, SC, Samuel (Joyce) Vecchio of Level Green and Anna Marie (John) Morris of New Alexandria; his nine grandchildren Claire and Haley Vecchio, Matthew (Michelle) Vecchio, Samuel and Christina Vecchio, Daniel Morris, Emily (Enrrique) Aragon, Samuel (Miranda) Morris and Kate Morris; his three great-grandchildren Genevieve and Emmeline Aragon and Stella Con; his siblings Betty Thomas (Jim) Chesky and Evelyn Vecchio.  Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-6 PM only in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10AM in the St. James Church, 306 St. James Lane, New Alexandria with Monsignor Larry J.
