Mitchell "Mitch" Adams

Mitchell “Mitch” Adams age 59 of Trafford, formerly of Monroeville and Pitcairn passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  He was born on July 25, 1958 in Wilkinsburg the son of the late Harry H and Mildred “Mitzi” (Miholovich) Adams.  Mitch was the owner and operator of Adams Trophies and Sporting Goods in Trafford for over 30 years.  Mitch coached Gateway High School Boys Basketball Team WPIAL Class 4A Championships in 2011 and 2012.  It was the only basketball championships in the history of Gateway High School.  The Gators made the finals in 2010 and won a section in 2011 for the first time since 1965.  He resigned in 2014 with a nine year record of 134-88.  Mitch was a former baseball umpire and ran East Suburban Umpire Association.  He was dedicated to the Pitcairn Mohawks and Baseball, a life member of Camp B.  He was a graduate of Gateway High School class of 1976.  He was a dedicated fan of University of Pittsburgh Athletics.  Mitch is survived by his life companion Karen; his brothers Michael (Ronna), Mark “Jo Jo”(Kristen), Milan (Tammie) Adams; stepchildren Carie Alberts (Ryan) and Terry Closson; beloved Pappy of Lucy Alberts; uncle of Milan Jr, Michael Peter, Glenn Joseph, Christopher Bard, and surviving aunts Catherine Mignogna and Dorothy Pugliano and numerous cousins and great nephews.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford (412) 372-3111.  Additional visitation will in the St. Nicholas Serbian Church, 2110 Haymaker Road, Monroeville from 8:30 AM until the time of the services at 9 AM Saturday with the Very Rev. Fr. George Veselinovich officiating.  Everyone please go directly to the church.    Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, N.
