Marian C. “Shine” Szajna age 90 of Trafford passed away on Monday February 5, 2018. Shine was born on July 31 1927 the son of the late John and Mary (Kalanko) Szajna. Shine was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII, he retired from Westinghouse Electric Corp., a member of the St. Regis Church Trafford, Trafford American Legion Post #331, a lifetime member of St. John Kanty Lodge #881 (Trafford Polish Club). Shine was a gardener, loved to cook and loved taking care of his girls. He could tackle any home project from furnaces to furniture and had a vast array of tools which he loved to use. He could frequently be found enjoying the sun and the view from his front porch which he referred to as the “Beach”. Shine was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn J. “Sis” Szajna in 2015. He always referred to him and his loving wife as “Sis and Shine”. Shine also was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Szajna. He is survived by his daughters JoLynn Wilkins (Jeffrey) and Deborah Bombulie; his grandchildren Joshua Wilkins, James Bombulie (Erinn), Michael Bombulie, Mark Bombulie (Jennifer); his great-grandchildren Ryan, Camille, Jack, Lucy, Jude and Maxwell; his brother Theodore Szajna. Family and friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc. 702 7th Street (State Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111. Parting prayers will be at 9AM in the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30AM in the St. Regis Church Trafford with Fr. David Nazimek as celebrant.
