Irene Helen (Marowski) Smeltz

August 2, 1926 ~ May 23, 2018 (age 91)

 

Irene Helen Smeltz age 91, formerly of Level Greeen died May 23, 2018 while residing at Weatherwood Manor, Greensburg.   Irene was born on August 2, 1926 in Trafford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Serafin) Marowski.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Russell E. Smeltz of 59 years, her son Lawrence Smeltz, and two sisters, Sophie (Marowski) Traynor and Stella (Marwoski) Kovac.She was a member of the Level Green Presbyterian Church.  She was also a member of the Level Green Senior Citizens where she enjoyed going on bus trips with friends and playing bingo.  She also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and baking.  She is survived by her children, Karen Mayhorn and husband Bart of Fairmont, WV, Sharon Miller and husband Dave of Greensburg, and Kim Klingensmith and husband Tom of N. Huntingdon; Grandchildren, Russell Klingensmith and wife Andrea, Brad Klingensmith, Michelle (Sproat) Kuhns, Bobby Sproat, Scott Miller,  Bartley Mayhorn, Jr, Larry and Alex Smeltz, seven great grandchildren, her special niece, Janet (Traynor) Henkel, and extended family and friends.  The family would like to thank the entire staff at Weatherwood Manor for all their kindness throughout the years.  Special thanks to Hospice nurse, Gary Howell, personal aide, Dawn Mosesman, and Chaplain, Drew DeCrease, and the rest of the staff at Senior Independence Hospice.  Family and friends will be received on Friday (May 25) from 2-4 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St., (State Rt. 130), Trafford (412)372-311.  Funeral services will promptly be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the funeral home with Chaplain Drew DeCrease officiating.  Interment will follow in Restland-Lincoln Memorial Park, Monroeville.  In lieu of flowers, family requests remembrance in memory of Irene H.
