Donald W. Gessinger

Donald W. Gessinger age 77 of Level Green died, Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in his home. Don was born on June 21, 1933 in Trafford the son of the late William and Violet Boyle Gessinger. At a young age he was a self-employed painter before working and then retiring from the Westinghouse Electric in Trafford. After retirement he took an apprenticeship in meat cutting, he loved cooking and baking and loved babysitting for his grandchildren. Don was a veteran of the US Army Reserve during the Korean War. Don was preceded in death by his brothers Frank "Hank", William, Ken, Richard, Edward "Eddy" and Robert Gessinger and a sister Mildred Gessinger. Don is survived by his wife of 46 years Shirley Eutsey Gessinger, his children Debra Marts and husband Lloyd of Monroeville, and Ronald W. Gessinger and wife Lisa of Murrysville and was a great "Pappy" to his 5 grandchildren, Christopher, Joshua, Michael, Alex, and Connor. He is also survived by a sister Anna Mae Rush of Harrison city and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family. There was no visitation. A memorial service was held at 11 AM Sept. 11, 2010 in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc., 702 7th St. (Rt. 130) Trafford 412-372-3111.
