Naomi Teitt Witman

November 28, 1918 ~ August 8, 2017 (age 98) 98 Years Old

Naomi Teitt Witman, age 98, a life long resident of Trafford passed away on Tuesday August 8, 2017 while residing at Redstone Highlands, N. Huntingdon.  Naomi was born on November 28, 1918 in Greensburg the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Watson) Teitt.  She was a gracious lady with a wonderful sense of humor.  She was talented and loved to paint, sew, do crafts and work in her garden.  She was the ultimate hostess and loved to entertain friends and family.  Naomi was active in the Presbyterian Church her whole life, serving as a Deacon, always helping with dinners, typing bulletins, or singing in the choir and she was often found filling the vases for the Sunday church services with flowers from her garden.  She was a nurturer, often visiting shut-ins and bringing them groceries or taking them to doctors’ appointments.  Naomi was a member of the Pitt-Ford Garden Club and the former Trafford Women’s Club.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her two daughters, her five granddaughters and her eight great-grandchildren.  She was loved by her extended family as well,  as sons-in-law and grandsons-in-law were added to the family over the years.  Naomi is survived by her loving husband of 75 years Dwight N. Witman, her daughters Phyllis Neral (William), Janet Mitchell (Robert); granddaughters Melissa Cargill (Scott), Joanna Mizener (David), Georgia Del Freo (John), Amanda Trenn (Richard), and Suanna McGuire (Eric); her eight great-grandchildren Alan and Nathan Mizener, Matthew, Timothy, Anna, and Jonathan Cargill, Rebecca and Emily McGuire.  Family and friends will be received on Friday from 1-3 & 6-8 PM in the John M. Dobrinick Funeral Home Inc. 702 7th St. (St. Rt. 130) Trafford (412)372-3111.  Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Ronald Durika officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Twp.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Naomi’s memory can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin, 617 Main St. Irwin PA 15642 or the Redstone Highlands Benevolent Care Fund, 126 Matthews St., Suite 2800, Greensburg PA 15601.  www.dobrinickfhinc.com
